Meet my new friend

Last week I decided it was time I got myself some killer shoes. I had been eyeing down a pair of covered wedges for the fall, & ended up falling in love with a pair of Jeffrey Campbell's.

You see, when a person loves design in all aspects-you not only look at the functionality of the piece, you look for the excitement it brings. The flutters in your stomach. The "leave the room and come back for peek" love. Where you see yourself moving in slow motion. Like the episode of Chappelle Show.

(hilariously true-watch it)

Anyway-
I'd like you to meet my new friend. Jeffrey Campbell.

That chair thing

So, as many of my close friends and family know, I have quite the obsession with design: especially chairs. This whole thing started when I went to the Vitra Design Museum in Germany (FA '07). There, they have an extensive collection of my favorite designers' chairs: Charles and Ray Eames.

Being an average middle-class Minnesota girl, high-end design hasn't been in the closest reach. So, when I travel or visit others' homes, I am always observing my surroundings for those gems I've seen in catalogues or museums so I can swoon over them in person: feel them, sit in them, etc.
Since I began working at Modern Climate, I have discovered a secret within the industry which showcases how much design means to its people: it's in the furniture.

MC is easing me into being around higher-end furniture. The day I come into an office and I get my very own Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, will mark the beginning of pure bliss.

I'm a kid in a damn candy store.

I'm close to giving in

okay folks. that's it. i think i might have to give in and buy an iPhone. a little late, yes, but for those who have one-have you tried the "hipstamatic" app? I want the phone just for this. It's a camera application that shoots photos with different vintage lenses, flashes, & film.

check out those pictures. This app would make every night out-even better.

Sweet Independence

The holiday weekend is over with and now it's back to work in the Ad world. I will admit, this blog business (along with Twitter) has opened my eyes to the world and what I can share. Not only do I take more pictures, but I now purposely go on more adventures to make my life more interesting-so I can share it with the world. Social Media is an amazing thing I tell you.

Above are a few pictures from my Fourth of July weekend. Kevin, myself, and our friend Jutty went biking around NE Mpls. Did a few different bars and ended up at our favorite: Psycho Suzie's.(above you can see their infamous drink "the volcano" as we call it) We then went up north and stopped for ice cream at this DQ I went to a lot as a little girl. The hot weather was obviously not agreeing with Kevin's cone

Us Minnesotan's try to enjoy this weather as much as possible.
Bring on the heat!

Arts & Crafts

This past week was hectic around the agency. And this is what happens when you promise 10 mock-up booklets to the client by EOD. If there was a hidden camera in this room all day, you would've heard sailors talking.
